Health Monitoring in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of May 7, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

In Hauts-de-France, during Week 17—the week when schools reopened for young children (elementary and preschool)—epidemic activity continued to decline at the regional level (-23%) (276 cases per 100,000 inhabitants versus 359 in Week 16). The regional test positivity rate has fallen sharply and, in Week 17, has dropped below 10%, against a backdrop of a modest increase (+10%) in testing, confirming the decline in viral circulation in the region.

In the region, nearly 1 in 4 people over the age of 18 has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Bronchiolitis

Return to the non-epidemic phase this week.

Mortality

Regionally, a significant excess of all-cause mortality has been observed since week S43-2020 among people aged 65 and older and across all age groups.
