HIV: A psychotherapeutic approach remains essential.

Interview with Professor Pierre-Marie Girard, head of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at Saint-Antoine Hospital in Paris. At Saint-Antoine Hospital, a specialized program has been implemented to improve the comprehensive care of patients living with HIV. This multidisciplinary initiative focuses on a comprehensive "prevention, screening, and care" approach. It aligns with the “positive prevention” approach recommended by France Lert and Gilles Pialoux in their report to improve HIV/AIDS prevention and support. One of its key areas of focus is sexual well-being and risk reduction. This is a long-term effort that prioritizes listening and dialogue, demonstrating that a psychotherapeutic approach is fundamental.
