COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Normandy as of September 9, 2021
Key Points
In Week 35 in Normandy, the situation is stabilizing, with the incidence rate declining for the third consecutive week, though indicators in cities and long-term care facilities remain relatively stable. However, this trend has had little impact on hospital indicators so far, and with the start of the school year, close attention must continue to be paid to how the situation evolves in the coming weeks.
The regional incidence rate is down compared to Week 34 (-28%, 65 per 100,000 inhabitants). At the departmental level, a decrease in the incidence rate is observed in all departments. Three departments have incidence rates close to the threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants: Calvados (55 per 100,000 inhabitants), Manche (45 per 100,000 inhabitants), and Orne (49 per 100,000 inhabitants). Incidence rates are decreasing across all categories. With the implementation of the health pass, the testing rate is decreasing but remains at a high level.
