Reunion Island: Pilot Program to Prevent Unwanted Pregnancies.

In Réunion, a pilot program providing information on emotional and sexual health is being implemented in middle schools, local vocational training centers, and a second-chance school to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Information sessions are also organized for parents. An initial evaluation demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach. Lack of information, lack of communication with parents, and limited access to contraception are among the main factors contributing to the high number of unwanted pregnancies in Réunion, including among minors.
