Dengue Surveillance in Réunion. Update as of January 24, 2021

Key Points

Since early December, there has been a trend—still moderate—toward an increase in the number of confirmed cases, and the first clusters of cases (Le Port and St. Joseph) have been detected. For the S02/S03 period of 2021, the number of confirmed cases is lower than in 2019 and equivalent to that of 2020. As a reminder, in 2019 and 2020, the period from late January to early February marked the resurgence of the epidemic. The impact on healthcare utilization remains limited.
