  • The dengue outbreak continues

  • Only the municipality of Salazie has reported no cases. The majority of cases are located in the south (74%), primarily in the municipality of St. Louis (46% of cases).

  • Unlike in 2019, in 2020, DENV-1 is the predominant serotype, followed by DENV-2; DENV-3 is primarily found in Saint-André

  • The proportion of hospitalized cases is higher in 2020 than in 2019.

  • Numerous cases of secondary dengue were detected, with a significant proportion in St. Louis

  • More than 30 imported cases in 2020 (travelers returning from Madagascar (DENV2), Mayotte (DENV1), the Comoros, and Tahiti).
