Key Indicators in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region
SOS-Médecins: Decline in COVID-19-related visits; 2% of consultations were COVID-19-related in Week 23.
Emergency departments: slight increase in COVID-19-related visits; 1% of visits were COVID-19-related in Week 23.
Sentinelles Network: incidence of acute respiratory infections at 3 per 100,000 inhabitants in week 23 (17 in week 22).
Facilities caring for dependent elderly individuals: 2,831 cases among residents and 490 deaths as of June 9. The number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported since the last epidemiological update remains low.
Hospitalized cases: downward trend in hospitalizations and ICU admissions of COVID-19 patients; 780 hospitalized cases as of June 9, including 61 in the ICU; 919 hospitalized patients have died since the start of the epidemic.
Sentinel intensive care units: 89% of cases had at least one risk factor as of June 2; invasive ventilation was required for 70% of cases.
All-cause mortality: no significant increase in mortality since week 17 in any department in the region.
Clusters: As of June 9, fourteen transmission clusters outside of nursing homes and small family clusters have been identified, five of which are still under investigation.
