Epidemiological Surveillance in Corsica. Update as of September 9, 2020.

Key Points

  • COVID-19: Epidemiological indicators of SARS-CoV-2 circulation in Corsica are mostly on the rise, with, in particular, high incidence rates exceeding alert thresholds, especially among those aged 15–39, which cannot be fully explained by an increase in the number of tests. All of these factors point to an increase in viral circulation in Corsica;

  • chikungunya, dengue, Zika: 6 cases of dengue reported since the start of the season (May 1);

  • heat wave: no heat wave is forecast in the coming days, and activity in emergency rooms for conditions potentially related to heat is low;

  • pollen: the allergy risk is low (2/5) and primarily involves grasses, nettles, and ragweeds.
