  • a smaller impact on emergency departments;

  • a lower number of people admitted to intensive care (10 this season compared to 17 during the previous season);

  • Circulation of type A viruses exclusively, with co-circulation of the two subtypes (21 A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses and 17 A(H3N2) viruses among 57 patients tested);

  • no reports of outbreaks of acute respiratory infections in facilities for the elderly and at-risk individuals during the 2018–2019 season.
