Mental Health Syndromic Surveillance Bulletin, September 6, 2021

Key Findings

  • In emergency departments, visits for anxiety disorders and, to a lesser extent, for mood disorders were on the rise among children. For all indicators, with the exception of visits for suicidal acts and for anxiety disorders among children, the levels observed were similar to or lower than those of previous years.

  • In the SOS Médecins associations, several indicators were on the rise among adults, notably anxiety (ages 15–64) and behavioral disorders (ages 45–64). Among children, visits for anxiety and depressive states were also on the rise. For most indicators, the observed levels were comparable to those of previous years, except for anxiety.
