Significant decline in SARS-CoV-2 circulation, with the peak in new infections occurring in week 44 and the peak in hospitalizations in week 45
Decrease but still at a high level in the number of new confirmed cases, emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and new ICU admissions, as well as testing and positivity rates (RT-PCR)
Most affected regions: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur
French Guiana: stabilization of SARS-CoV-2 transmission
Mortality:
Mortality remains high
Over 50,000 deaths since the start of the epidemic in France
Prevention:
Individual prevention measures and contact reduction must be maintained with increased vigilance as lockdown restrictions are eased
