Summer Health Surveillance in Upper and Lower Normandy. Update as of May 30, 2014.

Situation in Lower and Upper Normandy

Periods of extreme heat can lead to heat-related illnesses, the worsening of pre-existing conditions, or hyperthermia. Since the exceptional heat wave of the summer of 2003, a national prevention and crisis management plan aimed at reducing the health impacts of a heat wave has been implemented each year. The 2014 National Heat Wave Plan (PNC) will be activated between June 1 and August 31. This plan is based on four strategic priorities: preventing the effects of a heat wave; protecting the population through the implementation of appropriate management measures; information and communication; and learning from experience.
