Key development
In Occitanie, since May 1, 2016, 268 suspected cases have been reported in the 8 departments under enhanced surveillance:
no locally transmitted cases have been identified,
104 imported cases (i.e., from travelers returning from areas where the virus is circulating) of Zika, 27 of dengue, and 3 of chikungunya have been confirmed.
Nationwide, from May 1 to October 27, 2016:
No cases of local vector-borne transmission,
3 cases of Zika virus infection through sexual transmission have been confirmed,
430 imported cases (i.e., from travelers returning from areas where the virus is circulating) of Zika, 140 of dengue, 1 dengue/Zika co-infection, and 10 cases of chikungunya were confirmed.
