Consultations with Young Consumers: A Review After Ten Years of Activity.

Launched in 2005, this program—the only one of its kind in Europe—consists of 540 youth substance use clinics located in mainland France and the overseas departments. These clinics provide information, counseling, treatment, and referral services to 15- to 25-year-olds who are struggling with the use of psychoactive substances (cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, cocaine, and other substances) or non-substance-related addictions (video and gambling, the Internet, screen-based activities). While more than a third of young people seek help because they are required to do so by a court order, an increasing number are referred by their schools. The socioeconomic vulnerability of this population has significantly increased over the years.
