Physical Activity: A Therapeutic Approach for Cancer Patients [Interview].

Organizations such as CAMI Sport & Cancer offer physical activity programs for people with cancer, helping them regain a sense of ownership over their bodies, which have been put to the test by the disease and its treatments. The most important aspect for patients is the social connection and group dynamic of the sessions, which, among other things, help break the cycle of isolation. Two or three sessions a week help restore their self-esteem and, above all, their confidence in their bodies, because they can see the progress they’re making. The positive effects are scientifically proven: reduced mortality and recurrence rates.
