AIDS Surveillance in France. Status as of March 31, 2001

The AIDS case surveillance data presented in this BEH were compiled for cases diagnosed through December 31, 2000, based on case reports received by the InVS through March 31, 2001. As of December 31, 2000, the number of people living with AIDS is estimated to be between 22,500 and 24,800, and the total number of deaths since the start of the epidemic is estimated to be between 36,500 and 39,600.
