Key Points

Smallpox B (mpox)

  • 24 imported cases from Madagascar and 5 locally acquired cases. Secondary spread from the imported cases has been contained, and local transmission is limited.

Arboviral Diseases 

  • Sporadic cases.

Acute respiratory infections 

  • The flu epidemic has begun, with a limited public health impact at this stage. Circulation of three influenza strains—A(H1N1)pdm09, A(H3N2), and type B—and increased circulation of rhinovirus.

Bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age 

  • Moderate increase in emergency department visits.

Gastroenteritis 

  • A decline in gastroenteritis activity in emergency departments, following the increase observed the previous week.

Leptospirosis 

  • Sporadic cases; off-season; low transmission rate
