During the last two weeks of October (W43 and W44 of 2012), the number of clinically suspected dengue cases decreased compared to the levels observed at the beginning of the month (W41 and W42 of 2012). The average weekly number of cases was estimated at 77 during the last two weeks of October, compared to 152 at the start of the period (S2012-41 to S2012-42).This decrease was most pronounced in the municipality of Kourou, which has been experiencing a moderate-scale epidemic since late September, and in the western Guyana region.
