Health and Work: A Gender-Based Approach to Improving Prevention.
Over the past fifteen years, women have increasingly been taking on jobs involving risk factors that have not been adequately assessed or recognized. And recent preventive policies do not appear to be effective enough given the types of work women perform. A study shows that, in a printing plant, one of the most demanding jobs—and the one with the highest risk of musculoskeletal disorders—is primarily assigned to women, who do not have the same career advancement opportunities as men.
