Frequently Asked Questions

Participation in the study

Why was I selected?
Your local health insurance provider identified all members aged 18 or older who are being treated with antidiabetic medications. A random drawing was conducted from this group, and you and other people with diabetes were selected.

A family member or friend was contacted to participate in the study; can I answer on their behalf?
If someone you know was selected by their health insurance provider, only they can complete the questionnaire. However, if they wish, you may assist them in completing the questionnaire.

I don’t want to be contacted by phone; can I still participate?
You received a letter containing a reply form to participate in the study. You can indicate on this reply form that you do not wish to be contacted by phone (by checking the box: “I refuse to be contacted by phone”). In that case, you can still participate in the study, either by completing a paper questionnaire that you will receive, or right now online using the username and password provided in the letter accompanying this reply card.

I wasn’t selected; can I still participate?
No, that is not possible. Only those who were randomly selected can participate in the study.

I do not wish to participate in the study; what will be the consequences?
The Entred 3 study is not mandatory. The fact that a person with diabetes who was invited chooses not to participate in the study has no consequences and cannot in any way influence the quality of care they receive or their management for the treatment of their diabetes. However, your participation is essential for the scientific quality of the study.

I participated in the study and am wondering if my doctor will see my answers to the questionnaire?
The information is anonymous (see the Data Confidentiality section). Under no circumstances can the doctor access their patient’s answers to the questionnaire.

System and software requirements
We recommend using Google Chrome; if you use Firefox, please use the latest version. No other specific software is required to complete the questionnaire.

Can I complete the questionnaire in multiple sessions or edit my answers?
Yes, you can save your answers and return to the questionnaire later to complete it or edit your responses. However, you must complete and finalize it within 21 days of your last login. If 21 days pass without finalizing the last page of the questionnaire, all entered information will be deleted and you will no longer be able to access the questionnaire.

Once you have completed the questionnaire and submitted it, you will no longer be able to modify it.

The paper questionnaire

Why a telephone questionnaire and a paper questionnaire?
The paper questionnaire is more detailed than the telephone questionnaire. It allows for a more in-depth exploration of certain topics and for the exploration of others, such as how you and your loved ones perceive your diabetes on a daily basis.

I do not wish to answer certain questions
No question is mandatory; you are free to answer or not answer any questions that might make you uncomfortable. We remind you that your answers are anonymous.

I don’t feel able to answer the phone on my own (or fill out the questionnaire)—can I fill it out with the help of a loved one?
It is perfectly fine to have a loved one assist you. However, some questions are personal.
