COVID-19: Epidemiological Update as of June 18, 2020

Key points

  • In France, with the exception of Mayotte and French Guiana:

    • all indicators of SARS-CoV-2 circulation remain at low levels

    • slight increase in the number of new clusters but no uncontrolled community spread

    • no signs of a resurgence of the epidemic

  • In Mayotte, SARS-CoV-2 circulation remains at a high level

  • In French Guiana, increased viral circulation and three clusters with community spread. Active circulation of the virus throughout the territory justifying the transition to Phase 3 on June 15, 2020

  • All-cause mortality has returned since Week 18 to the usual levels observed nationally

  • Decrease in the consistent adoption of preventive measures, including hygiene measures and mask-wearing
