Epidemiological Situation

Guadeloupe: Epidemiological surveillance indicators in outpatient and inpatient settings have been high in recent weeks. The influenza virus has been isolated: in hospitals, it is predominantly type A, while in outpatient settings, type A has been detected on two occasions (A/H3N2 and A/H1N1pdm09).
From early November (Week 45) through January 27 (Week 4), four severe cases, all of influenza A, have been reported, one of which resulted in death.

Saint Martin: surveillance indicators have been rising over the past two weeks, reflecting the start of the epidemic. From S45 to S04, one severe case of influenza A virus was reported.

Saint Barthélemy: Since the start of the epidemic in late December (Week 52), 143 cases of influenza-like illness have been reported in the city, and 15 emergency room visits have been recorded. No hospitalizations following these visits have been reported. The type B virus was isolated for the first time from a sample taken at the hospital.
