Situation Analysis
All epidemiological surveillance indicators point to the continuation of the epidemic, which has now lasted for 22 weeks. Some of these indicators (number of clinically suspected dengue cases, biologically probable or confirmed cases, emergency room visits) appear to have begun to decline over the past two to three weeks, but this trend has yet to be confirmed. The epidemic remains widespread throughout mainland Guadeloupe and its nearby islands. The predominance of DENV-4, observed since June, also continues to this day. This serotype had not circulated in Guadeloupe since the 2005 epidemic. The situation remains at Phase 4, Level 1 of the Psage Dengue* (confirmed epidemic). Given the epidemiological situation, it is important to reiterate the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and protecting oneself against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
