Situation Analysis

All epidemiological surveillance indicators point to the continuation of the epidemic, with viral circulation having stabilized over the five weeks of August. Although some indicators show a slight decline, it is not yet possible to suggest a downward trend in the epidemic. No unusual severity has been associated with this epidemic to date. The predominance of DENV-4, observed since June, continued in August. This serotype had not circulated in Guadeloupe for several years. The situation remains at Phase 4 Level 1 of the Psage Dengue* (confirmed outbreak). Given the epidemiological situation, it is important to remind the public of the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and taking personal precautions against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
