COVID-19

• The incidence rate remained stable in week 04-2023 and stayed below 50 cases per 100,000 people for the second consecutive week (with 43 cases per 100,000 people compared to 46 in week 03-2023).

• The incidence rate is stable across all age groups, except among those aged 0–9, 20–29, and 70–79, where it is declining (by 19%, 14%, and 20%, respectively).

• The positivity rate (5.6%) is stable compared to the previous week.

• The testing rate is 771 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in week 04-2023. It is stable across all age groups, except among 10-19-year-olds, where it is rising (+18%).

Bronchiolitis

• OSCOUR®: In week 04-2023, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age decreased again. It stands at 7.2%, or 84 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is declining, standing at 13.5% in week 04-2023.

• SOS-Médecins: In week 04-2023, the proportion of cases handled by SOS-Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 5.3%, a slight increase compared to week 03-2023.

• Virology data: According to results from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Strasbourg, Nancy, and Reims, in week 04-2023, the circulation of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) continues to decline.

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

• OSCOUR®: In week 04-2023, the number of emergency department visits for flu-like illness, across all ages, increased compared to the previous week (222 versus 192 in week 03-2023). The proportion of flu-related cases also rose slightly, with 1.0% of emergency department visits attributed to the flu.

• SOS-Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, is up compared to the previous week (628 consultations versus 526 in W03-2023), representing 9.6% of total activity.

Acute gastroenteritis

• OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis (AGI) across all age groups remained stable in week 04-2023 compared to week 03-2023 (216 versus 226 in week 03-2023), representing 1% of activity. The proportion of hospitalizations for acute gastroenteritis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 0.6%.

• SOS-Médecins: The number of consultations for GEA across all ages remained stable in week 04-2023 compared to week 03-2023 (568 vs. 588 in W03-2023), representing an 8.7% share of activity (vs. 9.2% in W01-2022). There were 3 hospitalizations for GEA following an SOS-Médecins consultation in week 04-2023 (compared to 1 hospitalization in week 03-2023).

• Virology data: the circulation of enteric viruses is stable and consists primarily of norovirus.
