COVID-19
In Week 25 of 2022, increased circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in the Grand Est region:
Increased incidence across all age groups.
Increase in the number of new hospitalizations (all departments) and critical care admissions compared to week 24 of 2022.
The slight increase in the number of emergency room visits continues.
Since week 07-2022, the data now only covers the SOS Médecins associations in Strasbourg and Troyes. For these two associations, an increase in the number of consultations for COVID-19 has been observed.
Departmental incidence rates: increased incidence rates in all departments. The highest rates are observed in Moselle and Marne (567 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in both departments), and the lowest is observed in Vosges (348 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).
Variants: The screening rate is 41%, and 98% of screened tests indicate a suspected Omicron variant (for tests where the mutation is sought and interpretable). In week 25 of 2022, 72% of screened samples carried a mutation consistent with the new Omicron sublineages, including BA.2.12.1, BA.4, and BA.5 (compared to 59% in week 23 of 2022).
Vaccination: As of June 27, 2022, full vaccination coverage for the region was 77.6%. A booster dose had been administered to 88.4% of those aged 65–74 and to 80.4% of those aged 75 and older.
Acute Gastroenteritis
SOS Médecins: Since week 07-22, the data pertains only to the SOS Médecins associations in Strasbourg and Troyes. For these two associations, the number of consultations for acute gastroenteritis (AGI), all ages (Figure 2), was 297 in week 25-2022. This represents a slight increase compared to the previous week (249 consultations). The share of activity is 7.6% and is up compared to last week.
Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for GEA, all ages (Figure 3), increased slightly in week 25-2022 (304 visits compared to 273 in week 24-2022), and accounts for 1% of emergency department activity. The proportion of hospitalizations for GEA among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 4%.
Virology data: According to data from laboratories in Nancy, Reims, and Strasbourg, rotavirus circulation is now low.
