Emergency department visit data from the Oscour® network
The prevalence of mental health disorders among adults in 2021 returned to the levels seen in 2019 and 2018.
Among children, there has been an increase in the average monthly number of emergency department visits for mental health disorders in 2021 compared to 2020 (+43%) and 2019 (+23%), as well as visits for suicidal acts, particularly among 11- to 17-year-olds.
The frequency of emergency department visits for suicidal ideation is increasing across all age groups.
The average monthly number of visits for mood disorders in 2021 is comparable to that of 2019 and 2018.
Data on medical procedures from the SOS Médecins associations
Decrease in consultations for anxiety and behavioral disorders in 2021 compared to 2020 (-20% and -14%, respectively).
Mental health indicators (CoviPrev survey)
Significant increase in the frequency of depressive states and sleep disorders reported by respondents.

Increase in the average monthly number of emergency room visits for mental health issues in children, including suicidal acts and suicidal thoughts.
