In Nouvelle-Aquitaine
From May 1 to November 30, 2020, out of 62 reported cases, 61 were confirmed:
61 imported cases of dengue (vs. 71 cases from May 1 to November 30, 2019);
No cases of Chikungunya (vs. 5 cases in 2019);
No cases of Zika (vs. 1 case in 2019);
No locally transmitted cases were identified in the region.
Dengue cases were identified in 10 departments in the region: Charente, Charente-Maritime, Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Deux-Sèvres, Vienne, and Haute-Vienne. The majority of cases reported travel to the Caribbean (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint Barthélemy, and Saint Martin).
For the 51 cases in which a mosquito control operator was called upon, 112 investigations were conducted, resulting in two larvicidal treatments (in Charente and Gironde) and 60 adulticidal treatments (in Gironde, Dordogne, Landes, and Lot-et-Garonne).
In mainland France
From May 1 to November 27, 2020, the following were confirmed:
834 imported cases of dengue (64% of whom had visited Martinique and 23% Guadeloupe);
6 imported cases of chikungunya;
1 imported case of Zika.
Since the start of this period of enhanced surveillance, six indigenous dengue outbreaks have been identified, for which epidemiological investigations and field actions were immediately implemented (notably vector control). Three outbreaks were identified in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and three isolated indigenous cases in Occitanie.
