Extreme heat, heat wave
The heatwave in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region ended on August 10 for all departments except Vaucluse, which was under a yellow alert from August 12 to 16.
In S32, emergency department activity for conditions potentially related to heat remained stable (all ages and those 75 and older), but hospitalizations (all ages) following visits increased.
Activity by SOS Médecins associations for conditions potentially related to the heat is decreasing.
Monkeypox
164 confirmed cases in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region as of August 16, 2022.
Chikungunya, dengue, Zika
9 imported cases of dengue in the region: 3 from Cuba, 1 from Costa Rica, 1 from Brazil, 1 from Thailand, 1 from Réunion, 1 from Indonesia, and 1 from Côte d’Ivoire.
1 case of locally acquired dengue has been identified in the Var department.
