Both nationally and regionally, there has been an increase in activity over the past week (+12%), particularly among children under 15 (+32%). However, overall activity remains comparable to 2012. Over the past week, there has been a marked increase, across all age groups, in all ENT and respiratory conditions. This trend is particularly pronounced among those under 15. The asthma attack indicator has risen sharply (+42%, +199 cases) across all age groups, with higher numbers than in 2012 and 2011. This trend is particularly evident among those under 15 (+86%, +180 cases). The influenza indicator is rising (+33%, 131 cases) across all age groups; all age groups under 75 are affected. Activity levels related to this indicator remain within expected seasonal ranges. The bronchitis indicator is rising across all age groups (+19%); children under 15 are the most affected (+67%, +366 cases), and activity levels related to this indicator remain comparable to 2011 and 2012. The pneumonia indicator is stable across all age groups; however, there is an increase among children under 5 years of age (+120%, +41 cases). Among children under 2 years of age, diagnoses of bronchiolitis are on the rise (+50%, +79 cases). ENT conditions are rising sharply among children under 15: nasopharyngitis, otitis, tonsillitis, and laryngitis, up 56%, 41% (+1,006 cases), 33% (+539 cases), and 55% (+368 cases), respectively. The gastroenteritis indicator is stable across all age groups, with numbers comparable to those in 2011 and 2012. However, there has been an increase among children under 5 years of age (+19%, +102 cases).
