Children's oral health has improved significantly.

The Val-de-Marne oral health prevention program regularly assesses the oral health of children in the department. After twenty years of this program, the prevalence of cavities among 6-year-olds has been reduced by two-thirds, and by half among 12-year-olds. But there is still much work to be done for children and adolescents, particularly when precarious living conditions hinder access to care.
