The project is part of the European Commission’s “Healthier Together” initiative on noncommunicable diseases and brings together partners from across Europe. It reflects a wide variety of cultural contexts, lifestyles, and healthcare systems, ensuring an approach tailored to the realities on the ground. To carry out its mission, JACARDI benefits from leading scientific support, notably from the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as other leading international scientific organizations.

- Santé publique France leads the working group on health literacy and coordinates 25 pilot projects on this topic from 15 countries. It is also the competent authority for France and oversees the work of JACARDI-France in collaboration with five other affiliated French entities (Nantes University Hospital, Tours University Hospital, Toulouse University Hospital, Lyon University Hospital, Saint-Brieuc Hospital - Paimpol-Tréguier) to ensure that actions are complementary and consistent.
