Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 28 imported cases have been identified in the region: 8 cases of chikungunya (+1 compared to last week) and 20 cases of dengue (+1). No locally acquired cases have been detected in mainland France.

West Nile virus infections

  • No locally acquired cases have been detected in the region—or more broadly, in mainland France—since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1).

High temperatures, heat wave

  • Activity in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins clinics related to the heat remains stable at a level typical for this time of year
  • A heat wave is setting in across mainland France.

Pollen, allergies 

  • Pollen levels were high in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region. Allergy-related activity at SOS Médecins is down this week, at a level typical for the season.

Mortality

  • No excess mortality was observed.
