Smoking Cessation and Vulnerable Populations: The Benefits of Specialized Care.

Smokers in vulnerable situations who receive intensive group-based social support appear to adhere better to the program, with a higher quit rate than those receiving individual support. This specific approach—combining informational, emotional, and material support—may explain these preliminary findings, which will be further refined in the future. A larger-scale trial could help explore the generalizability of this pilot study.
