Participation rate in the organized colorectal cancer screening program in 2015
Positive immunological test rate
Note: The guaiac test (Hemoccult® II) was replaced by the immunological test (OC Sensor®) in April 2015.
Given the rollout of the immunological test—which began in the middle of the year and was accompanied by delays in test supply in certain departments—the estimate of participation for 2015 is of limited value and was therefore not calculated.
In total, as of December 31, 2015, 9.2 million people were invited to be screened under the program; 1.4 million underwent a screening test, of whom nearly 63,000 tested positive.
The rate of positive immunological tests is 4.6%, in line with expectations. It is higher among men (5.9%) than among women (3.6%), increases with age, and is higher during initial screening than during subsequent screening.

The rate of positive immunological tests also varies by department, ranging from 4.3% to 7.4% (5th and 95th percentile) among men and from 2.5% to 4.5% (5th and 95th percentile) among women (xls format and pdf format).
