Call for Applications to Replace a Member of the "National Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) Committee"
Santé publique France is seeking a scientific expert to join the "National Committee on Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs)." The appointee will serve until the end of the committee's term in July 2022.
The "National Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Missions" Committee, appointed in July 2017 and reporting to the Director General of Santé publique France, assisted the agency in drafting the terms of reference for the five national missions that were the subject of a call for proposals and evaluated the scientific quality of the applications received to enable the agency to select them. It must now evaluate the activities of the CPias carrying out these national missions on an annual basis.
The purpose of this call for applications is to replace a qualified member of the committee for the remainder of the term, i.e., until July 2022.

a cover letter stating the candidate’s professional and/or personal contact information,
a curriculum vitae
a list of works/publications from the past 5 years in the field of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and healthcare-associated infections,

Selection Criteria
Only complete applications will be considered.
Candidates will be selected by a selection committee based on the information provided in the cover letter, the candidates’ alignment with the required qualifications, and an analysis of conflicts of interest.
Declarations of interest will be reviewed by Santé publique France’s Internal Ethics Committee.
Candidates will be notified of the outcome of the review of their application via email from the committee’s secretariat.
The new member will be appointed by decision of the Director General of Santé publique France for the remainder of the term, that is, until July 2022.
CPias staff are not eligible to apply.
The same applies to members of the Board of Directors, the Scientific Council, the Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee, and the Steering and Dialogue Committee of Santé publique France.

Committee’s Missions
Since the CPias responsible for the five national missions selected by the committee have been appointed for five years, the committee will evaluate their activities annually based on an annual activity report pertaining to these missions.
Composition of the Committee
The committee consists of 9 qualified individuals appointed by the Director General of Santé publique France, joined by 3 representatives from the Ministry of Health, one representative from the Regional Health Agencies (ARS), one representative from the National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam), one representative from the High Authority for Health (HAS), and 3 representatives from Santé publique France.
The members represent the various specialties and areas of expertise involved in the field of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and bacterial resistance to antibiotics (BRTA) (see below).
Members serve in their personal capacity and may not be replaced. This is a participation based on personal capacity and not institutional representation.
Committee workload
The committee is expected to meet at least twice a year for one day, with an estimated workload for members of approximately 3 to 5 days per year.
Responsibilities
To meet the established objectives, the Committee is composed of healthcare professionals (physicians, pharmacists, healthcare managers, nurses) with expertise in the field of surveillance and prevention of healthcare-associated infections and bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
General Qualifications
Interest and experience in the field of surveillance and prevention of healthcare-associated infections and bacterial resistance to antibiotics, including in research, development, and evaluation,
good knowledge of the public health system and the organization of healthcare in France,
ability to work collaboratively and in a multidisciplinary setting.
Specific Skills
The specific skills required for this call for applications, as part of the replacement of a qualified individual, are focused on infectious diseases.
Committee Operations
Committee members are appointed for a term of 5 years. They sign a "Confidentiality Agreement and Commitment to Regularly Attend Meetings."
The Director General of Santé publique France provides the committee with the resources necessary for its operation. The scientific and administrative secretariat of the committee is managed by the Directorate of Infectious Diseases, Unit for Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antibiotic Resistance.
Compensation and Travel Expenses
Travel and accommodation expenses are reimbursed under the conditions applicable to civilian government employees.
Compensation for loss of income in the case of private practice, as well as compensation for time spent participating in meetings and for work performed, shall be provided in accordance with the schedule established by the Board of Directors of Santé publique France.
