Acute Gastroenteritis
- In Week 26, activity related to acute gastroenteritis was on the rise in hospital emergency departments but declining at SOS Médecins and in private practice (Réseau Sentinelles). At the departmental level, activity in hospital emergency departments ranged from low to moderate depending on the department. The level of activity was moderate at the regional level.
Extreme Heat, Heat Wave
- In week 26, an increase in healthcare utilization for heat-related conditions was observed during the heatwave at hospital emergency departments and SOS Médecins clinics, with a peak recorded on June 26 in emergency departments.
- This increase affected all age groups, with a more pronounced impact among people aged 75 and older.
- An increase in hospitalizations following visits to the emergency room was also observed. Starting on June 27, the number of heat-related medical visits gradually decreased.
- However, the low staffing levels observed at SOS Médecins organizations require a cautious interpretation of the results.
- The highest levels of activity were observed in the departments of Indre-et-Loire, Indre, Cher, and Loiret.
Chickenpox
- In Week 26, chickenpox-related activity was on the rise in hospital emergency departments and in private practice (Sentinelles) but remained stable at SOS Médecins.
- At the departmental level, activity in hospital emergency departments ranged from low to moderate depending on the department within the region (moderate activity at the regional level).
Allergies
- In week 26, allergy-related activity was stable in hospital emergency departments and at SOS Médecins.
- At the departmental level, activity in hospital emergency departments ranged from moderate to high depending on the department within the region, with an overall moderate level regionally.
Asthma in 2- to 14-Year-Olds
- In week 26, asthma-related activity among 2- to 14-year-olds was declining in hospital emergency departments and stable at SOS Médecins. At the departmental level, activity observed in hospital emergency departments ranged from low to high depending on the department (moderate activity level across the region).
Mortality
- In week 25 (unconsolidated data), in the Centre-Val de Loire region, the number of deaths from all causes and across all age groups reported by civil registry offices remained within the usual range of fluctuation. These trends are subject to confirmation once the data is consolidated.
