COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of June 9, 2022
Key points
Guadeloupe:
SARS-CoV-2 continued to circulate actively across the archipelago in S22.
Incidence and positivity rates were stable, with a slight decrease in testing activity. The 30–39 and 40–49 age groups recorded the highest incidence rates since S20. The effective R over the 7-day rolling period from May 29 to June 4 was 1.01 (95% CI [0.96–1.05]), not significantly higher than 1.
Despite the continued circulation of SARS-CoV-2, no major impact on hospital admissions was recorded in Week 22. A decrease in the number of emergency department visits was observed, while new hospital admissions across all departments remained stable. Furthermore, one in-hospital death occurred in Guadeloupe during Week 22, as was the case in Week 21.

Saint Martin:
Week 22 was marked by an increase in the number of new SARS-CoV-2 infections. However, this number remains comparable to the figures observed in the previous weeks (Weeks 19 and 20).
Hospital indicators also remained low in Week 22. As of June 8, 2022, only one new admission was recorded, compared to three the previous week.
Saint Barthélemy:
New SARS-CoV-2 infections and the positivity rate increased against a backdrop of relatively stable testing rates in Week 22.
At the hospital, the situation has remained calm since the resurgence of the epidemic observed in week 2022-12.
