COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of November 5, 2021

Key points

Guadeloupe

Epidemiological indicators stabilized during week 43. The incidence rate stabilized around the alert threshold, against a backdrop of a slight increase in testing. The incidence rate rose sharply in certain age groups, particularly among 10- to 19-year-olds. Two school-based clusters were reported in week 43. The situation remained calm in hospitals. We are therefore seeing the incidence rate stabilize at the alert threshold for the first time after several weeks of consecutive declines.

Saint Martin

In Saint Martin, the positivity rate and incidence rate were relatively stable in Week 43, against a backdrop of increased testing rates. The positivity rate, however, remained below the vigilance threshold. The incidence rate remained above the 50/100,000-inhabitant mark, but with a low number of positive cases (n=34). The situation in hospitals remained calm.

Saint Barthélemy

In Saint-Barthélemy, SARS-CoV-2 transmission remains very low. Only one case tested positive among residents of the territory last week, and no new hospital admissions were recorded.
