Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of February 9, 2023.
Key Points
COVID-19
The epidemic is subsiding this week: virological indicators, including incidence and positivity rates, are at low levels. New hospitalizations are stabilizing, and deaths continue to decline. This trend is consistent with the situation described at the national level.
The proportion of COVID-19 cases in the total caseload of SOS Médecins associations and emergency departments is low.
The Omicron variant is circulating almost exclusively in the region, with the BA.5 sublineage predominating (90% of interpretable sequences in the Flash S04 survey); among its sublineages, BQ.1.1 appears to be declining (40% vs. 58% for Flash S03).
Bronchiolitis
Post-epidemic phase.
Slight increase in activity among SOS Médecins associations.
Activity in emergency departments remains at a higher level than in previous seasons (8% vs. 9% in S-1).
Influenza
Epidemic phase.
After a declining phase, influenza-related activity, still in the epidemic phase, has been on the rise for the past two weeks among SOS Médecins associations and in emergency departments.
34 reports of clusters of acute respiratory infections in long-term care facilities since early October 2022.
27 severe cases of influenza admitted to intensive care reported by the intensive care sentinel network.
Acute gastroenteritis
Activity at SOS Médecins clinics is decreasing after a four-week period of growth and has returned to last season’s levels.
Activity in emergency departments is slightly increasing but remains below last season’s levels.
