Bronchiolitis
Epidemic phase, on the decline.
Bronchiolitis-related activity among children under 2 years of age peaked during the week of December 11. In S01-2024, the number of bronchiolitis cases decreased (185 vs. 305 in S52), as did the proportion of emergency department visits (16% vs. 20% in S52) during the school break.
SOS Médecins activity has decreased slightly to 8% across SOS Médecins associations (vs. 9% in S52, 17 flu cases vs. 27 in S52).
Influenza
Epidemic phase, on the rise.
Flu-related activity remained stable in emergency departments during Week 01 with 232 flu cases (1.4% of visits in W01 vs. 1.5% in W52), but increased slightly for SOS Médecins with 312 flu cases and activity remaining around 3,800 procedures (8% in W01 vs. 7% in W52).
In the region’s medical-social facilities, 3 clusters of influenza cases have been reported since Week 51
Since November 2023, 10 severe cases of influenza admitted to intensive care (6 influenza A, 1 influenza B, and 3 unspecified) have been reported.
Acute gastroenteritis
Activity at SOS Médecins clinics for acute gastroenteritis has been moderate for the past two weeks, accounting for 7% of visits (vs. 8% in Week 52).
Emergency department activity for acute gastroenteritis has been moderate for the past two weeks, with a visit rate of 1.7% in Week 01 (vs. 1.9% in Week 52).
COVID-19
The spread of SARS-CoV-2 is slowing in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
The rate of confirmed cases continues to decline, falling from 29.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 52 to 20.5 in Week 1, amid school holidays. The percentage of cases involving suspected COVID-19 among SOS Médecins associations is decreasing (1.9% vs. 2.7% in S-1), as is the rate of emergency room visits (1.1% vs. 1.4% in S-1).
