Key Points

COVID-19

  • Slight increase in the incidence rate (IR) and testing rate (TR), decrease in the positivity rate (PR). The regional (gross) IR rose from 177 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 34 to 181 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 35. IRs are slightly higher in the Côtes d’Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine departments. Decrease in hospitalizations in general and critical care, and in calls to SOS Médecins. Stabilization in emergency room visits. Estimated vaccination coverage by place of residence stands at 83.1% for one dose and 82.3% for a full course.

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • Brittany has remained under a green heat wave alert since August 14. There has been a decrease in healthcare utilization for heat-related conditions this week, with activity within seasonal norms (excluding periods of extreme heat).

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. There has been an increase in the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week, affecting children under 5 and adults aged 15–74. Decrease in the number of SOS Médecins consultations across all age groups.

Monkeypox

  • As of September 5, 2022, at 12:00 PM, 35 confirmed cases had been reported in the Brittany region.
