Flu-like illness surveillanceIn mainland France, flu activity remains low in all French regions. Some indicators are on the rise in both hospital and outpatient settings, as is the proportion of positive flu test results.In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, flu activity remains low and stable in both hospital and outpatient settings.
Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis In mainland France, the onset of the acute gastroenteritis epidemic is confirmed. According to the Sentinelles network, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded for the second consecutive week. In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, activity in outpatient care remains stable below the regional alert threshold. Hospital activity remains stable. However, the number of isolated viruses is increasing. In Picardy, SOS Médecins activity remains close to the regional alert threshold and the number of isolated viruses is increasing, but hospital activity is decreasing.
Surveillance of severe influenza cases hospitalized in intensive care units In mainland France, 24 severe influenza cases have been reported since the start of surveillance. Most of these are confirmed cases of type A influenza. In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the first severe case of influenza was reported in the region during week 02. It involves a type B virus. In Picardy, no new severe cases of influenza have been reported.
