Key Points
In week 30 (July 22–28, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to decline slightly among children, particularly those under 2 years of age (-6%), and remained stable among adults.
Among the seasonal indicators, we note:
after two weeks of increases, a decrease in heatstroke cases across all age groups (-20%, or 30 fewer cases), while cases of insect bites have stabilized at levels comparable to previous years;
a marked decrease in cases of chickenpox among children (-42%, or -269 cases).
While cases of pertussis were declining in week 29, they are now on the rise again across all age groups (+34%, or +126 cases). These cases remain at levels significantly higher than in previous years.
All other respiratory indicators are declining, notably cases for suspected COVID-19 among adults (-20%, or -431 cases) and, to a lesser extent, among children aged 2–14 (-11%, or -14 cases).
Among other indicators, there was an increase in procedures for viral syndrome in children under 2 years of age (+12%, or +14 procedures), depressive state in adults aged 15–74 in small sample sizes (+40%, or +19 procedures), and deterioration in general health in adults aged 75 and older (+24%, or +74 procedures).
