Key Points

  • In Week 17 (April 24–30, 2023), the third week of school vacation, activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among those aged 75 and older (+7%, or +412 visits) and remained stable or declined among children and those aged 15–74.

  • Among adults, there was an increase in cases of urinary tract infections (+18%, or +321 cases) and acute abdominal pain (+7%, or +95 cases), and among those aged 15–74, an increase in cases of conjunctivitis (+10%, or +67 cases). Among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in procedures for seasonal conditions, particularly respiratory issues: asthma (30%), allergies (+24%), and ENT conditions (+14%).

  • Among children, the only notable increase in visits was for trauma (+27%, or +108 visits) among those aged 2–14, and among children under 2 for isolated fever, dermatological conditions, and chickenpox (up 24%, 20%, and 12%, respectively).
