  • In 2021, the prevalence of daily smoking was 25% (or 1 in 4 adults), comparable to the national average, among both men and women;

  • The first departmental estimates on smoking reveal significant regional disparities, with daily smoking prevalence ranging from 24% to 30% in 2021; four departments had higher prevalence rates (Dordogne, Lot-et-Garonne, Charente, Creuse);

  • In 2021, 39% of 18- to 75-year-olds had already tried e-cigarettes, and 5% used them daily;

  • One in three smokers had attempted to quit within the year in 2021.
