Key Indicators in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

  • Laboratories: a total of 15,403 positive test results as of May 3, 2020, including 785 in week 18 (W18) and 1,234 in week 17 (W17).

  • Sentinelles Network: incidence of acute respiratory infections of 77 per 100,000 inhabitants in W18 (37 in W17).

  • SOS-Médecins: downward trend in COVID-19-related visits; 6% of consultations were COVID-19-related in W18.

  • Emergency departments: downward trend in COVID-19 visits; 3% of visits were COVID-19-related in W18.

  • Facilities caring for dependent elderly individuals: 2,704 cases among residents and 422 deaths as of May 5. The number of reported COVID-19 cases has been steadily decreasing since March 31.

  • Hospitalized cases: downward trend in hospitalizations and ICU admissions for COVID-19 patients; 1,395 hospitalized cases as of May 5, including 210 in the ICU; 746 hospitalized patients have died since the start of the epidemic.

  • Sentinel intensive care units: 81% of cases had at least one risk factor as of May 5; invasive ventilation was required for 69% of cases.

  • All-cause mortality: no significant increase in mortality since week 16 in any department in the region.
