The most significant changes in sleep patterns occur between birth and nine months of age. The mother plays a key role: by establishing a regular daily routine, she helps ensure her child gets a good night’s sleep. Later on, teenagers need more sleep than preteens. According to several studies, most teenagers are sleep-deprived by one to one and a half hours per day due to late bedtimes. Sleep deprivation disrupts learning and contributes to hyperactivity and anxiety.
